OMLTA 2026 – Bridging Cultures Through Language Innovation

We were thrilled to attend the 2026 OMLTA Conference on March 27–28 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. This year’s theme, Bridging Cultures through Language Innovation, truly set the tone for two inspiring days of learning, conversation, and connection within the language education community. This year was especially meaningful for us as it marked our 25th year attending the OMLTA conference.

One of the highlights of the conference for us was our session introducing our newest resource, Accès-CIBLES. The session was led by author Leo-James Lévesque, who did a fantastic job walking educators through the resource, its purpose, and how it can be used in the classroom. We were thrilled with the level of participation, the thoughtful questions, and the valuable feedback we received from educators. It was incredibly rewarding to see such enthusiasm for this new resource and to have meaningful discussions about how it supports real-world language learning for students.

We were also proud to have the opportunity for our President and COO, Kevin Martindale, to introduce the conference keynote speaker, Dr. Judith Patouma, whose presentation on plurilingualism and cultural enrichment through the languages we speak was both insightful and inspiring. Her message strongly resonated with this year’s conference theme and reminded us all of the important role language plays in connecting cultures and communities.

Overall, OMLTA 2026 was a fantastic conference filled with inspiring sessions, meaningful conversations, and great connections. We are grateful to everyone who stopped by to talk with us, attended our session, and shared their ideas and feedback.

We are already looking forward to being back again next year!
